What makes us different?

Your whole family can attend

We provide a relaxing, low-distraction experience where your dog (and you!) can learn. We use food, play, and other reinforcers to teach new behaviours and create positive associations. You will never need to use force or scare-tactics with your dog when you use our dog-friendly method of training. Your dog will respect and trust you! In fact, if you have a dog walker or pet sitter who you’d like to get on the same page as you, bring them along! The more, the merrier.

your veterinarian trusts us

We run a tight ship here, and Veterinarians and local breeders know it! We come highly recommended because they have seen us in action, attended our classes with their own dogs, and have seen the amazing results our classes can produce. We often send our graduates off to complete therapy dog evaluations, Canine Good Neighbour evaluations, and service dog work.

WE’RE MORE QUALIFIED THAN THE AVERAGE BEAR

Anyone can Google information about dogs, but not everyone can decipher science from myth. That’s what we’re here for. We’ll give you insight into your dog’s behaviour that you just can’t get from a website or online forum. We are not hobby trainers - we are professional trainers who spend our lives dedicated to education in animal behaviour, psychology, learning theory, ethology, husbandry, anatomy and physiology, and more. We are immersed it in, day in and day out. This is our full-time job; our career. We spend $10k+ on our education and we top that up every year with courses, seminars, conferences, workshops, and webinars. We don’t just have one certification - we have many. We pride ourselves on staying current on research and newly emerging data.

you get so much more than just one hour

There is so much more! You will receive detailed handouts emailed to you after your lessons so that you don’t have to rely on your memory or quick notes. We will provide resources, videos, step-by-step instructions, referrals to other pet professionals whom we trust (walkers, sitters, vets, groomers, daycares), and access to us via email between lessons for clarification. Prior to your lessons, we spend time reviewing your file and researching. Once we have met and worked together, we spend even more time reviewing your file, creating a flexible training plan, documenting, and seeking a confidential second opinion within our industry to ensure we are providing you with all the information that could help you be successful in this program.

it’s not just what you see, it’s what you don’t see

You might come in with a “surface concern”, and we will give you a holistic view. While we could play whack-a-mole, we would rather help you get to the root of the problem and while we resolve that, we can also prevent escalation of other problems that tend to go along with what you’re facing.
